Today is the last class I will have as a Multimedia student in Dunboyne College of further Education. This will be my last post on this blog and I will give a detailed Summary of my year as a Multimedia Student in Dunboyne College of Further Education.
Design
Looking back on the year I would consider it a complete success, I have completed assignments and tasks to a high standard that I would not have had the ability to do a short few months ago. In assignments such as "Green Hands", "Scungilli" and "Raven View Guest House" I followed the Design Brief I was given and with various techniques such as brainstorming, researching the neccessary material and working successfully within a group I completed all assignments and tasks. I also had to produce a collection of work folder that contained every task I completed in Design for the year.
Multimedia Authoring
During the year in Multimedia Authoring I completeed several tasks where I learnt and implemented several skills that helped me complete various tasks. I had to produce a collection of work at the end of the year providing evidence of Editing, Animation, Interactive & Navigational Skills, Contol of Volume, Tempo and Duration & Instruction Guidelines. Our final assignment was a group assignment where we had to Design and Create an Interactive Multimedia Quiz.
Multimedia Project Developement
Over the year in Multimedia Project Developement we learned how important it is to meet deadlines successfully and that working in a group can produce excellent results in terms of projects beeen developed. I had two main projects that covered Multimedia Project Developement, the first one was to evaluate and give a detailed description of a Kodak photo Kiosk. The second main project was the Multimedia Interactive Quiz. My group created our quiz through PowerPoint and made it a general knowledge Interactive Quiz.
Overall I thouroughly enjoyed my year as a Multimedia Student in Dunboyne College of Further Education. I learned several new techniques as well as improved my general IT skills that helped me produce a high level of work throughout the year and which will ultimateley be highly beneficial to me in my preferred course: Computer Applications in DCU.

Interactive Quiz
Today in class we were allowed work in our groups for our Interactive Quiz assignment. Personally I finished the storyboard that was previously started by myself and Adam. I also completed my individual report for my interactive quiz. Finally I completed the Production Plan for the Interactive Quiz.

Group work for our Interactive Quiz
Today in class we were allowed to work in our groups for our interactive Quiz. As team leader at the start of the day I assigned myseld Adam and Matthew to our seperate tasks. Adam started our PowerPoint display while Matthew completed the survey for our Quiz which wil help us with our questions for our quiz.
I then proceeded to make the questions for our quiz which consisted of six sections with five questions in each sections which gives us a total of thirty questions. We chose Films, Sport, Music, Geography, Guess the Celebrity and a quick-fire round of Capital Cities. When that was complete I then found pictures of the celebrities we wanted to use and edited parts of their face in Microsoft word to make it difficult to Guess the Celebrity.
During the day while we were completing our seperate the tasks we always interacted together and discussed decisions we were making. We were all aware that it is a group task and everybodys input is important in all areas of the quiz.

Interactive Quiz and Blog time
Today in class we were given time to work on our Multimedia blogs. We had to fill it up with detailed explanations of our weekly class. I already had most of my blog updated so I added images to the text I previously posted. I added images of my Green Hands Design Logo solution and my Go Animate video.
In the second half of the class we were divided into our groups for our Interactive Quiz assignment. My group continued with the work we had previously started and I researched other popular TV Quizzes to generate more ideas. Myself Matthew and Eamonn decided on individual tasks for our assignment and discussed our strategy and decided what route we will be taking to complete our Interactive Quiz.

Html League Table
Today in class we created are very own Html page that contained a small league table with three football teams and their official club logo's. I really enjoyed this task as it was the first time I created my own Html page. I have added a printed screen of the Html page below.

Collection of work completion and animation videos.
Today in class was a very productive and enjoyable day. We were allowed put the final touches to our Design folders which we have been putting together the last couple of weeks.
We also signed up to http://goanimate.com/ which is a website that lets you make your own cartoon. It gives you several choices to choose from depending which topic you want to make your cartoon about for example you can choose to make a skit or a serious cartoon about the presidential election. I will add my video at a later date.

Creative Digital Media presentation and collection of work completion
Today in class we were allowed work on and add the necessary work needed to complete the collection of work folder.
We also had a lecturer from ITB in class to give us a presentation on creative digital media which is a course in Blanchardstown IT. The course is a natural progression to multimedia in Dunboyne Further of Education which we are all attending. The presentation was very interesting and a course which i will look further into.

Green Hands assignment and collection of work
This week is review and assessment week and today in class we handed in our logo design assignment. We were required to to take the role of a designer and our clients were Thomas Green and Edward hand. They gave us their design brief which we had to interpret and produce a design solution.
We also had to hand up a folder with our collection of work in it. We were given a brief which outlined exactly what work was needed to be included in the folder. Throughout the year so far we had completed several tasks, seven of those tasks completed with briefs and draft work had to be included in the folder and presented perfectly according to the college handbook in class.

Multimedia computer and Multimedia Design equipment assignment.
Today in class we went over what a multimedia computer is and what its functions are. We looked at what functions are required in a computer for it to be considered a good multimedia computer. today we expect our multimedia computers to have the internet, video conferencing, to be able to edit videoss and burn dvds and cds. We also expect our multimedia computers to be able to watch movies, play games and so on.
We also completed two tasks during class. Our first one was we were given €5000 euro and we had to spend it as if we were a multimedia designer who just secured office space and we had no equipment. We had to give reasons why we choose each bit of equipment and why we thought it would benefit a multimedia designer.
Our second task was to help design a futuristic apartment that incorporates and utilises multimedia in every way possible.

Design Brief
Today in class everybody presented their video they have been working on. The video is a song that matches the letters in your name which you have to draw up from scratch using paint and windows live movie maker.
We also started to design a new logo from a brief we were given. I started off by brainstorming ideas on paper which the base of my idea came from. I also searched websites like google images and www.fuelyourcreativity/so-kick-ass-logos-for-inspiration/ , http://www.patricialindberg.com/ , http://www.crabshackmarina.com/ . I then proceeded to draw up some draft sketches. I will add my final logo design to this post at a later date.

HCI evaluation assignment and Design Brief
Today I handed in my HCI evaluation assignment that we were giving before christmas. I really enjoyed this assignment as it gave me a chance to use a Kodak picture kiosk. We also joined up in groups to brainstorm and create our own ideas for a design brief of our choice. We were also giving time to touch up on our paint skills because this will benefit us in our next assignment.
